    At the School of Information Systems, Singapore Management University (SMU), we are currently inviting applications for Research Fellows (Postdocs).

    These positions are with the Web Mining Group led by Dr. Hady W. Lauw ( The group's activities revolve around data mining and machine learning for the Web and social media. The new positions will be part of a research project on mining user preferences from big data, funded by an NRF Fellowship awarded by Singapore's National Research Foundation (NRF).

    A competitive Research Fellow (Postdoc) candidate has a PhD degree with a promising academic record in one or more relevant topics. Topics considered particularly relevant include: probabilistic graphical modeling, deep learning, topic modeling, recommender systems, dimensionality reduction, similarity search, text mining, and information extraction. A strong background in other data mining and machine learning topics will also be considered.
