2010 Fall Global Intern Program

Đây là chương trình Internship được tổ chức hàng năm ở trường mình (GIST, Korea), tổ chức vào kỳ Fall. Có vài bạn trên này đã từng theo chương trình này (cả những bạn năm cuối-chưa tốt nghiệp đại học, đã tốt nghiệp, đã có Ms), Phần nhiều những bạn đến theo các chương trình intern sau đó đều hoặc sẽ apply vào học tại GIST (những bạn chưa tốt nghiệp đại học), hoặc tiếp tục apply thẳng luôn để học tại GIST (đã tốt nghiệp). Một số làm tăng thêm cơ hội apply đi US

Về GIST mọi người có thể vào website của trường (English site tại ::: GIST :::) xem thêm. GIST chỉ có các ngành khoa học tự nhiên, điều kiện và môi trường làm việc tại đây nói chung là hoàn hảo .
Chương trình này support tiền sinh hoạt phí , bảo hiểm và vé máy bay một chiều cho các bạn. Nhiều bạn có thể có thêm tiền project từ Lab trong thời gian ở đây (tùy lab, tùy nghành). Đây cũng thực là là chương trình giao lưu văn hóa, tham quan Hàn. Có nhiều bạn đến từ nhiều nước trên thế giới!

The Section of International and Public Affairs (IPA) at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Korea, is planning to host a Global Intern Program (GIP) in Science and Technology during 2010.

The primary objective of the Global Intern Program is to carry out research and provide training related to science and technology.

IPA has worked to organize a Global Intern Program once a year, offering students from various countries the opportunity to participate in a 4 month training course at GIST.

This year, we are seeking up to 20 intern students for the upcoming Fall Semester (September 1, 2010 – December 21, 2010).

The Global Intern Program is designed to provide knowledge and skills related to science and technology in the areas of Life Science, Mechatronics, Information and Communications, Materials Science, Environmental Science, and Photonics.

Details:

Participants of the Program will be assigned to a department laboratory and receive their research training and coursework under the supervision of the professor in charge of the laboratory.

Information regarding department labs and courses offered can be obtained from the GIST website (::: GIST :::).

Applicants should select from the participating laboratories in order of interest and fill in the application form ranking their interests in order of priority.

Participants who successfully complete the Intern Program will receive a Certificate of Completion.

The record of each participant will be retained by GIST and used as part of the evaluation if the participant wishes to enter an M.S. or Ph.D. program at GIST in the future.

Support for the participants:

One-way airfare (economy class)

Dormitory accommodation (two persons per room)

Stipend of 400,000 Korean Won (approximately $350) per month to cover dormitory rent (100,000 Korean Won) & living costs.

Medical insurance during the Program period


Visa status:

Please remember that you should obtain a D-4 visa when applying for a Korean visa.

Mình highly recommend các bạn apply cho chương trình Internship ở GIST, 4 tháng
Mặc dù bạn phải trả vé máy bay một chiều, nhưng trong thời gian 4 tháng hưởng stipend nếu không ...tiêu pha sa đọa quá thì đủ để bù vé máy bay đó. Năm ngoái có bạn còn có lương của GS, lúc về khuân đống hàng điện tử về ...

Trong thời gian internship các bạn được tham gia khá nhiều cultural trips and culture exchanging ...hầu hết free. Một vài bạn tranh thủ thi luôn iBT trong thời gian ở đây, trung tâm thi cũng gần...

Những bạn ở trong các lĩnh vực sau : Life Science, Mechatronics, Information and Communications, Materials Science, Environmental Science, and Photonics. đều có thể apply.

Đây là chương trình internship hàng kỳ của một trung tâm nghiên cứu môi trường kết hợp với khoa mình đang học (khoa môi trường) tại GIST. Chương trình này dành cho: những SV đã tốt nghiệp ĐH, đã có MS, những anh chị em đang đi làm tại các viện/trường...có liên quan đến lĩnh vực môi trường (sinh học môi trường, vi sinh, hóa sinh, mô hình hóa, nanoparticles, fuel cell, điện hóa, ...các nghiên cứu về ô nhiễm đất, nước, không khí bla bla...)

The International Environmental Research Center (IERC) at the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST), Korea, is currently operating the UNU & GIST Joint Program on Science and Technology for Sustainability. The primary objective of the Joint Program is to carry out research and training on science and technology for environmental sustainability.
IERC organizes an international Internship Program twice per year, offering graduate and postgraduate students from developing countries the opportunity to participate in a 4-month training course in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, GIST. We are seeking intern students for the coming fall semester.
The internship program is designed to provide knowledge and skills on science and technology for sustainability from both theoretical and empirical perspectives.
Details:
• Participants of the program will receive their research training under the supervision of an IERC research scientist, and their coursework lectures given by faculty of GIST. During the final week of the program, each participant shall present the results of their research.
• Information regarding department labs and courses offered can be obtained at the website: UNU-IERC homepage
• Applicants should choose which IERC research staff of interest by priority and fill in the application form (UNU-IERC homepage).
• Participants who successfully complete the Program will receive an IERC Certificate of Completion. Requirements for completion include presentation of research results, regular class attendance, as well as active participation in the program.
• The internship program record of each participant will be available for evaluation if he/she wishes to enter GIST MSc. or Ph.D. programs.

- Chương trình internship này không có kỳ mùa hè (các tháng mùa hè) . Một năm có 2 kỳ fall (tháng 9-tháng 12) và kỳ spring (tháng 3- tháng 6 như bạn nói là SPRING roài:->:->:->)

Chương trình này mở từ năm 2005, kéo dài đến nay và có lẽ...cả mai sau. Thông tin chi tiết 2011 mình sẽ cố gắng update khi nào nó có!

Mối kỳ thường có khoảng 4-10 SV interns được nhận, tùy từng kỳ mà số lượng khác nhau. Đúng là phần lớn SV là từ các nước đang phát triển như vài nước Đông nam á, châu Phi (Viêt nam, Philipin, Thái lan, Malay...bla bla), nhưng mình biết là vấn có những chances cho SV từ các nước khác nếu bạn có liên hệ trước với Giáo sư của khoa môi trường (Take a look, there are some big and famous guys in this department).

Vấn đề bạn ở Bắc Mỹ thì mình chưa từng thấy trường hợp này tuy nhiên có một điều gần như chắc chắn: nếu bạn được nhận thì họ sẽ chỉ cho tiền vé máy bay roundtrip Việt - Hàn, chứ không phải Bắc Mỹ-Hàn.

Bạn nói mình mới ...vừa phải chạy vào site của khoa xem lại mới thấy lab. đó đổi tên.

Lab này giờ có tên là Environmental Remediation Lab. (Trước có tên là Environmental Nano-particle Lab.). Tên đổi nhưng rượu vẫn thế, có chăng có thể có project nào đó lớn liên quan đến remediation nên đổi tên. Với 4 tháng internship thì mình nghĩ không cần thiết 100% matching, chỉ cần tương tự ngành mình làm , như thế có thể tận dụng 4 tháng nhằm looking around, gaining experiences !

anh Happy ơi, internship này có cả kỳ spring à? em cũng muốn apply, nhưng mà Fall thì hết hạn rùi, nên muốn đi kỳ Spring năm sau.

Uh, cái Internship của IERC thì có cả kỳ Spring, từ tháng 3- tháng 6. Cứ theo dõi trên này, có thông tin mình sẽ đăng.

Hôm qua vừa nhận tin kỳ này cũng có 4, 5 interns sẽ qua GIST chỗ mình, theo cả hai diện như mình giới thiệu trên. Có bạn nào đi kỳ này mà qua lại trên này sẽ đi không vậy? mang mình xin gói ô mai

Năm ngoái kỳ Fall cũng có 5, 6 bạn. Các bạn sau đó apply đi US hoặc lại apply trở lại học Ms/PhD ở đây!

Được, nhưng mình nghĩ bạn apply cái dạng internship 1 (của trường mình), (dạng hai của IERC là vào ngạch Môi trường)

Mình không biết chuyên ngành sở trường của bạn, bạn cứ vào thử website
:: GIST ::, tìm xem có chỗ nào hợp không? như khoa Life science, medical system engineering, hay material science xem.

Hình như hôm trước nghe loáng thoáng có bạn nào người Việt ở đây làm cái research gì đó liên quan đến tổng hợp hợp chất mới cho vỏ capsule (của thuốc) thì phải...

 

Visa cho internship của GIST

Anh chị cho em hỏi, mọi năm khoảng bao lâu thì mới có visa ạ? Mình có phải làm gì không ạ? Có khó khăn gì trong quá trình làm visa không ạ?

Em scan passport từ tuần trước gửi cho họ nhưng chưa thấy họ phản hồi lại là khi nào có visa.

Có nên mua vé máy bay trước không ạ vì em tìm được cái vé rẻ nhưng phải mua ngay !_!. Giúp em với!

 

Mới tháng 7 mà, tận cuối tháng 8 mới lên đường mà...

Hình như bên này họ sẽ gửi một package hồ sơ cho bạn apply visa. Thời gian thì chỉ hết khoảng một tuần. Trường hợp gần ngày đi chưa có mà sốt ruột quá thì email bên này họ sẽ gọi điện sang tác động luôn.

Mình không rõ bạn đi theo chương trình internship nào, nếu theo dạng của trường mua vé 1 chiều thì bạn cứ book/mua lúc nào cũng được. Chiều đi bạn trả tiền nên deal được vé rẻ càng tốt, thường thì mình thấy Vietnamairline rẻ hơn cả so với Asiana và Korean air , Tốt nhất là chỉ mua/book vé đến Incheon-Seoul (từ Seoul về trường thì đi Bus cho rẻ mà lại tiện, Bus bên này rất tốt và thoải mái). Chiều về thì vô tư ...

Trước khi đi nếu cần thì có thể PM mình hướng dẫn đi, hoặc liên hệ ACE bên này mọi người hướng dẫn thêm

 

Em cám ơn chị. ^_^. Em đi theo chương trình GIST, nhưng mà tình hình là em phải trả 50% vé nên khi đặt mua được vé rẻ người ta bảo phải mua luôn không vé nè sẽ được bán hết nếu mua muộn. Do đó, em muốn hỏi các bậc tiền bối là mua vé trước có vấn đề gì không?

Liệu có khi nào mua vé rùi không xin được VISA thì !.!
