Position: Software Engineer (Research and Development)

The ARISE Project: Augmented Reality Information Search Engine (joint work of ADSC and I2R, A*STAR)

Description: You will join this research project at ADSC for making augmented reality (AR) a fundamental capability layer on mobile devices. The objective is to augment our real-world experience precisely and comprehensively with information and communication from the virtual world-- i.e., the Internet. The ARISE project will develop this layer of capability, the Augmented Reality Information Search Engine, as a middleware interconnecting mobile applications of all kinds (e.g., education, shopping, gaming, and social networking) to the wealth of information and communication in the virtual world.

Responsibilities:

* Design and develop an end-to-end system as a platform for Internet-powered augmented reality applications.
* System includes both server-side database management and client-side mobile applications.

Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with Second (Lower) Honours or above.
* Background in data management, information retrieval, and databases.
* Programming skill in major languages such as C, Java, PHP.
* Familiarity or interest in Web and mobile application development.
* Candidates with keen interest in research are preferred.
* Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Cái này có thể tùy khoa và tùy thày đấy nhé, mỗi khoa có thể một khác, mỗi thày có thể một khác. Có những thày "rộng tay" cho tiền doc students học thêm các khóa để đủ credit lấy bằng master, có thày thì không. Có khoa cho doc students lấy bằng master trên đường đến PhD, khoa khác thì lại không muốn. Bác cần phải hỏi đúng người trong khoa thì mới chắc. ĐCB.

Như anh ĐCB nói, cái này có lẽ còn tùy. Bác nên gửi email hỏi Hady xem sao. Vị trí này based ở 1 research center ở Singapore nên chắc là xin làm MSc @ UIUC trong thời gian làm việc cũng hơi khó.
